WHAT: I'm a Boston-based yoga teacher whose classes include Slow Flow, Align, Gentle, and Restorative.
HOW: With thoughtful sequencing and precise verbal cues that highlight anatomical and energetic nuances, I help students understand the architecture of each pose as it manifests in their own bodies. I aim to create a warm and inclusive environment, where curiosity, honesty, and experimentation come out to play while things like perfectionism and negative self-talk take a nap.
WHY: I've been practicing yoga for twenty-five years. During that time, I've learned a thousand times over that I have whole lot more patience and am generally much cheerier on the days I practice yoga than on the days I don't. I teach in order to help my students access similar benefits.
WHERE: I teach public classes at
Boston Yoga Union. Additionally, once a week, I assist senior teacher Masaaki Okamura in his Saturday Slow Flow class at Down Under School of Yoga, and senior teacher Kate Heffernan in her asana sessions in Down Under's 200-hour teacher training. I also offer private instruction (feel free to email me at to learn more).
WHO: Some of the wise and generous teachers who have shaped my practice and influenced my teaching include: Kate O’Donnell and Rich Ray (Ashtanga); Rosie Richardson and Patricia Walden (Iyengar); Barbara Benaugh and Masaaki Okamura (Slow Flow); Kate Heffernan and Natasha Rizopolous (Intentional Sequencing). I completed both my 200-hour Teacher Training and 300-hour Advanced Teacher Training at Down Under School of Yoga. Currently, I'm studying Yoga for Brain Longevity through the Alzheimer's Research and Prevention Foundation.
ALSO: I'm a writer. You can find information about my books, essays, and short stories at
